Louie Girl's founder, Laura Burke has always been passionate with arts and crafts.
During her childhood she learned to knit, crochet and sew.
While raising her family, she earned a BS in Business Administration
and enjoyed a successful 20+ year career in the computer industry.
In her "spare time", Laura took formal courses to hone her pottery, oil painting,
fiber (spinning, weaving, dyeing) and jewelry design skills.

In 2002, Laura had the opportunity to focus more in the arts,
thus the birth of "Louie Girl Accents & Accessories".

Laura's love of working with fibers, lead her from spinning fibers into yarn,
to her current passion of felting the fibers to create
dolls, sculptures and artistic renderings.
The Louie Girl collection also includes knit and crochet accessories,
sterling silver or gold filled jewelry with semi-precious stones and
papier mache and plaster craft sculptures.

With the loving support of her husband David,
and the continued encouragement from her family and friends,
Laura looks forward to adding new products to
the Louie Girl line.
