Louie
Girl's founder, Laura Chu Burke
has always been passionate
about arts and crafts.
During
her childhood she learned to knit, crochet and sew.
While raising her family, she earned a BS in Business Administration and
enjoyed a successful 20+ year career within the computer industry.
In her "spare time", Laura took formal courses to hone her pottery, oil painting, fiber (spinning, weaving, dyeing) and jewelry design skills.
In
2002, Laura had the opportunity to focus more in the arts,
thus the birth of "Louie Girl Accents & Accessories".

Laura's
love of working with fibers, spinning theminto yarn, dyeing the fibers,
and her current passion of needle felting has lead to her creation of whimsical
3D dolls, sculptures and 2D art renderings
The Louie Girl collection also includes knit and crochet
accessories, sterling silver or gold filled jewelry
with semi-precious stones and papier mache and plaster craft sculptures.
With
the loving support of her husband David, and the continued encouragement
from her family and friends, Laura looks forward to adding new products
to the Louie Girl line.
Laura is a charter member of the Bolton Artisans Guild
"Louie
Girl" is named after Laura’s beloved Yorkshire Terrier,
Louisa May, a spunky little dog who brought joy and
inspiration to her entire family..
